Who is Eligible to Receive PM-KISAN Benefits

To qualify for PM-KISAN installments, farmers must meet the following criteria:

• Their land ownership details should be registered on the PM-KISAN portal.
• Their bank account must be linked with Aadhaar for seamless fund transfer.

The government regularly conducts village-level verification drives to ensure that all eligible cultivators are included under the scheme and no genuine farmer is left out.

Impact of PM-KISAN on Rural Growth

A study conducted by the International Food Policy Research Institute in 2019 highlighted the strong positive impact of PM-KISAN on rural livelihoods. The research noted that the financial support helped ease credit pressure on farmers and encouraged them to invest more in seeds, fertilisers, and other agricultural inputs. To improve efficiency further, the agriculture ministry has introduced a farmer registry initiative. This will create a detailed and verified database of farmers, reducing paperwork and making it easier for them to access government welfare services.
