OnePlus is preparing for another major India launch, and all eyes are now on the OnePlus 15R. Early teasers and leaks hint at a powerful, gaming-focused smartphone built for speed and long-lasting performance.

OnePlus has quietly begun teasing its upcoming 15R, signalling that its official reveal isn’t too far away. As usual, the device is expected to debut first in China as the OnePlus Ace 6T before making its way to India and other global markets. This follows the same strategy the brand adopted with earlier models, including the OnePlus 15.
Based on what has been confirmed so far, the 15R is shaping up to be a performance-driven device, and much of the excitement revolves around its chipset. The India model will likely mirror the Ace 6T in design and hardware, which leaves little room for surprises.
OnePlus 15R Processor and Performance
OnePlus China President Li Jie has already confirmed that the OnePlus Ace 6T will be the first smartphone powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. This is the standard (non-Elite) version of Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship chip, reportedly developed in close collaboration with OnePlus.
A key highlight here is the introduction of a specially tuned gaming kernel. The company claims this optimisation will help the phone deliver stable 165Hz gameplay without frame drops. Rumours also suggest that at least one major game, likely Genshin Impact, has been optimised for this refresh rate, reinforcing the phone’s gaming-first appeal.

OnePlus 15R Design and Display
The teasers indicate that the OnePlus 15R will carry the brand’s new squircle-shaped rear camera module, a design element already seen on the OnePlus 13 series and the OnePlus 15. This makes the new R-series device visually aligned with the company’s 2025 design language.
The phone is confirmed to support a 165Hz refresh rate on the front display. According to reliable leaks from China, the India model may feature a 6.7-inch OLED screen with 1.5K resolution and the same high refresh rate, aimed at delivering smoother motion and improved clarity.
OnePlus 15R Hardware and Memory Options
Rumours suggest that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 will be paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and as much as 1TB UFS 4.1 storage, putting the phone firmly in flagship territory in terms of memory. The chipset itself is believed to use Oryon CPU cores and a 3nm architecture built by TSMC, with an Adreno 840 GPU handling graphics-intensive tasks.

Battery life is a major focus this time. The Ace 6T is rumoured to pack an 8,000mAh battery supported by 100W fast charging. If these details remain unchanged for the Indian 15R variant, this would make it one of the largest batteries ever fitted in a OnePlus phone. This also aligns with the brand’s heavy emphasis on long-lasting performance in its promotional material.
Software-wise, China will ship with ColorOS 16, while Indian users can expect OxygenOS based on Android 16.
OnePlus 15R Camera Specifications
The expected camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main sensor paired with an 8-megapixel secondary camera. On the front, a 32-megapixel selfie camera is likely. These specs suggest that OnePlus is positioning the 15R as a performance-oriented device rather than a photography-focused flagship.

The OnePlus Ace 6T has already appeared for pre-registration on Chinese platforms such as JD, Tmall, and the Oppo Store. This points to an imminent launch in China, followed by India shortly afterwards, consistent with OnePlus’ R-series launch pattern.

The OnePlus 12R was priced at Rs 39,999 at launch, while the 13R arrived at Rs 42,999. With the company consistently raising pricing by roughly Rs 3,000 every year and the 15R receiving a next-generation chipset upgrade, a price increase is very likely.
Industry expectations suggest that the OnePlus 15R will launch in India at under Rs 45,000. A lower price seems unlikely, especially since recent OnePlus models, including the OnePlus 15, have seen price increases despite cheaper Chinese pricing.
