PM-Kisan Yojana 21st Installment Released: PM-Kisan Yojana has released its latest installment, delivering fresh financial support to millions of farmers nationwide as the government continues strengthening direct benefit transfers.
PM-Kisan Yojana Latest Installment Released
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi to more than 9 crore farmers across India. During an event in Coimbatore, around Rs 18,000 crore was transferred as the third tranche of 2025. Every eligible farmer has received Rs 2,000 directly into their bank account through digital transfer.
During the visit, the Prime Minister also inaugurated the South India Natural Farming Summit 2025, marking another step toward promoting sustainable agriculture in the region.
What the PM-Kisan Scheme Offers
The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi was launched on February 24, 2019, with the aim of offering fixed annual financial support to farmers. Under this programme, the central government provides Rs 6,000 per year to every eligible farmer. Since its launch, more than Rs 3.70 lakh crore has been transferred to over 11 crore farmer families in 20 installments, highlighting the scale and reach of this national initiative.

Who Is Eligible for PM-Kisan Benefits
Farmers can receive support only if their land details are updated on the PM-Kisan portal, their bank accounts are linked with Aadhaar, and eKYC is completed. The scheme is one of the largest global direct benefit transfer systems and has ensured broad inclusion by allocating over 25 percent of its benefits to women beneficiaries.
Services Through the PM-Kisan Mobile App
A dedicated PM-Kisan Mobile App has been launched to streamline services for beneficiaries. The app includes Aadhaar-based facial authentication for eKYC, allowing farmers to complete their own verification as well as assist others without visiting any office.
Aadhaar-Based eKYC Options
Aadhaar plays a central role in confirming beneficiary identity under PM-Kisan. Farmers can complete eKYC through three methods: OTP-based verification, biometric-based verification, or face authentication. These options make the process accessible to farmers in both rural and urban regions.
How the PM-Kisan Benefits Are Distributed
The scheme grants Rs 6,000 annually, released in three installments of Rs 2,000 every four months. In the previous installment covering April to July of FY26, 97.14 million farmers received the amount. Between December and March of 2024–25, the funds reached 10.68 million beneficiaries.
Why Fewer Farmers Received the 21st Installment
The latest installment has seen a reduction of nearly 7 million beneficiaries. This decline is linked to the government’s intensified verification drive to identify and remove ineligible applicants. Many registrations have been temporarily paused pending further scrutiny. At the same time, a national saturation campaign is underway to ensure every eligible farmer is enrolled.
A recent advisory on the PM-Kisan portal mentions that certain registrations may fall under exclusion guidelines. Farmers are encouraged to check their updated status on the official website.
Who Is Not Eligible for PM-Kisan
Although the scheme is open to all land-owning farmer families, there are exclusion categories defined by the government. Those not eligible include:
- Individuals outside the income criteria
- Farmers who pay income tax
- Government employees
- Elected representatives
- Pensioners receiving Rs 10,000 or more per month
These rules ensure that support reaches small and marginal farmers who most depend on financial assistance.

How to Check PM-Kisan Payment Status
Farmers can verify whether their 21st installment has been credited by following these steps:
- Visit the PM-Kisan official website
- Select the Know Your Status or Beneficiary Status option
- Enter Aadhaar number, mobile number, or registration number
- Submit details to view payment history, eligibility, and eKYC updates
If a farmer finds their status marked as on hold or sees their name missing, they should update eKYC and verify their land records with local authorities to restore eligibility.
