CBSE Board Exams 2026 Updated Marks Distribution
The Central Board of Secondary Education has issued a new circular clarifying how theory, practical, project, and internal assessment marks will be divided for the 2026 board exams. Students can now view the complete subject-wise structure through separate notices available on the official board website at cbse.gov.in.
Practical and Internal Assessment Dates for 2026
According to the circular issued on Tuesday, all practical exams, project evaluations, and internal assessments for Classes 10 and 12 will take place between January 1 and February 14, 2026. CBSE has urged schools to stay alert while uploading marks, highlighting that errors during this process have been commonly observed in previous years.

Complete Subject List Attached With the Notice
CBSE has attached a detailed list of Class 10 and 12 subjects to help schools conduct practicals, projects, internal assessments, and theory exams without confusion. Schools have been advised to carefully follow the given instructions and avoid requesting corrections later.
Marking Scheme for All Subjects Released
Along with the schedule, the board has released the complete marking scheme for all subjects included in the 2026 examinations. The annexure mentions subject codes, subject names, maximum marks for theory, practicals, project work, and internal assessment.
Examiner and Answer Book Details
The notice also clarifies whether an external examiner will be appointed for specific subjects and whether the practical answer book will be provided by CBSE. It further specifies the type of answer book required for theory exams, including the number of pages to be used.

Total Marks Distribution for Each Subject
