Maruti Suzuki has announced a major recall for 39,506 Grand Vitara SUVs due to a fuel gauge fault that may show inaccurate readings to drivers.
Why Maruti Suzuki Announced the Grand Vitara Recall
Maruti Suzuki India Limited has issued a recall for 39,506 units of the Grand Vitara. These vehicles were manufactured between 9 December 2024 and 29 April 2025.
The company stated that the problem is linked to the speedometer unit. The fuel level indicator and low-fuel warning light may display incorrect fuel levels. This can mislead drivers and cause unexpected inconvenience on the road.

How Maruti Suzuki Will Fix the Problem
Maruti Suzuki will contact all affected customers directly. Owners will be asked to visit authorized service centers for an inspection.
If the faulty component is identified, it will be replaced free of charge. The brand clarified that this recall is a precautionary measure and advised customers to respond quickly to dealer notifications.
What Owners Should Do Next
If your Grand Vitara falls within the production period mentioned, you are likely included in the recall. Even if you have not received a message yet, you can check by contacting your nearest Maruti or Nexa service center.
Since the fuel gauge may give inaccurate readings, getting the inspection done early is important to avoid any risk of running out of fuel unexpectedly.
